How it works: Senior High campers will have a Bible Centered (discussion) interest group at lunch time and an active interest group at dinner time.

You must be registered for camp to register for interest groups! Junior High campers do not need to register for interest groups. There are set groups that you will rotate through.

Have you ever wondered how we can know the Bible is true? In this group, we will be looking at different things in the old and new testament and how they connect to history, showing us God's rescue plan for the world.

Taking Care of the Temple

Why does the Bible call your body a temple? Have you ever wondered that? Let's find out why, and what God says we should do to honor him with our bodies. We will also talk about nutrition and exercise and do activities that make you a temple maintaining expert.

What if Jesus was Serious?

This interest group is based on What if Jesus Was Serious? by Skye Jethani and will explore what it really means to take Jesus' teachings seriously, especially from the Sermon on the Mount. Together we'll look at how Christians sometimes overlook or explain away challenging parts of Jesus' message. You will be encouraged to ask honest questions, rethink assumptions, and connect Jesus' words to everyday life. The goal is to challenge each other to live out a more authentic and meaningful faith.

Mind over Lies: Training your Thoughts to think like Christ

This study is designed to help individuals recognize that their thoughts shape their lives—and that not every thought they have is true. Throughout the week, we will learn how to align our thinking with Christ by identifying lies, replacing them with truth, and living with integrity. Students will explore how Scripture calls us to take control of our thoughts, renew our minds, and live truthfully—both internally (what we believe) and externally (what we say and do). By the end of the week, individuals will not only understand how to "set their minds on things above," but also how to live it out daily through honesty, consistency, and Christ-centered thinking.

Inspired by Survivor, in this interest group, you'll work with a team to tackle challenges and solve puzzles. Work together to outthink and outplay each other with a mix of fun, faith, and friendly competition. Think you have what it takes?

Do you have a musical talent? Although this won't be an onstage experience, we'll come together to create music and worship God in a camper-led band.

During the beginning of the week everyone will be given a journal to decorate. As the week goes on we will learn different ways to journal and study the bible.

In this interest group, you'll capture, create, and share content that highlights the moments, stories, and energy of Lakeside. We'll produce photos, videos, and social media posts to share what's happening throughout the week.
